Recipes Main

For years and years families have had recipes that get passed down from generation to generation, or that one secret recipe that Grandma Jane wouldn’t share until she was permanently checking out… Why is this? A good recipe is valuable.

One thing to remember when it comes to recipes is that it’s easy to make healthy substitutes and retain amazing flavor. For instance, you can substitute honey or maple syrup for either white or brown sugar. You can substitute soy milk, rice milk, or almond milk in for skim milk, 2% milk, or whole milk in practically any recipe from smoothies to breads. Also, in some cases, you may be able to eliminate sugar altogether. Just keep your eyes open for opportunities to make minor adjustments to a recipe that could make major adjustments for your body and your diet!
